All-rounder Luis Reece has signed a new deal with Derbyshire that will keep him at The Pattonair County Ground until the end of the 2023 season.
Reece enjoyed his best season for Derbyshire across all formats in 2019, claiming 52 wickets and scoring 785 runs in the Specsavers County Championship at an average of 30.19, including a career-best 184 against Sussex in the final home game of the campaign.
The all-rounder also scored three half-centuries and took ten wickets in the Vitality Blast, as the Falcons made history by reaching Finals Day for the first time.
Since making his debut for the club in 2017, Reece has scored 3,282 runs and taken 98 wickets across all formats.
Reece said: “I’m really pleased to have extended my stay here. We have a really tight group of lads and that’s a great environment to play cricket in.
“I feel like I am playing good cricket, and I was able to contribute with the bat and ball this season, which is really positive for me.”
Head of Cricket, Dave Houghton, added: “Luis has been one of our standout performers this season and he has earned this new deal.
“He has progressed every year that he has been with the club, and his numbers with bat and ball this season shows the kind of quality that he has.”
