Derbyshire Boys Presentation Evening 2019

Derbyshire County Cricket Club held their Boys Presentation Evening at The Greene King IPA Marquee on Friday 25th October, with more than 200 people in attendance. 

The winners were presented with their awards by Derbyshire Head of Cricket, Dave Houghton, while Boys Pathway Coach, Gareth Marshall, hosted the event.

The evening was a way to celebrate the Derbyshire Boys Cricket season for players, parents, managers and coaches during 2019, recognising their achievements throughout the year.

Each County Age Group Manager/Coach gave a summary of their season before announcing their individual winners. They are as follows:-

U10 Boys Batting Award Winners (Scoring 30 or more runs during the County Matches or Intra County Training Matches)

U10 Boys Bowling Award Winners (Taking 3 or more wickets in the Intra County Training Matches)

  • Darashun Atwal

  • Daniel Cutts

U11 Boys Award Winners

  • Batting Award – Danny Houghton
  • Bowling Award – George Siddall
  • Player of The Year Award – Jimmy Fry
  • Player’s Player of The Year Award – Danny Houghton

U12 Boys Award Winners

  • Batting Award – Harry Moore
  • Bowling Award – Tom Cope
  • Player of The Year Award – Harrison Parker
  • Special Bowling Award – Ciaran Gillespie – 5-24 against Bedford School
  • Special Bowling Award – Harrison Parker – 5-28 against Oxfordshire

U13 Boys Award Winners

  • Batting Award – Oliver Flindall
  • Bowling Award – Evan Dhanda

U14 Boys Award Winners

  • Batting Award – Matt Myers
  • Bowling Award – Ben Slater
  • Player of The Year Award – Jake Else
  • Special Bowling Award – Ben Slater – 5-45 against Cumbria

U15 Boys Award Winners

  • Batting Award – Archie Harrison
  • Bowling Award – Ben Halliday
  • Player of The Year Award – Nafis Shaikh
  • Special Bowling Award – Fred Chell – 5-52 against Nottinghamshire

U17 Boys Award Winner

  • Batting Performance Award – Nafis Shaikh – 149 against Durham – 3 Day County Championship

The final award of the evening was for the Mini-Academy Player of The Year 2019. The winner was Mitchell Wagstaff.

Mini-Academy Award Winner

  • Mitchell Wagstaff – 112 and 4-52 against Warwickshire EPP.
