Harvey Hosein is targeting success in 2020, see all home Vitality Blast group-stage cricket for just £89 and Derbyshire sign two Australia internationals.

Hosein says Derbyshire won’t fear anyone in 2020

Harvey Hosein wants Derbyshire to take the momentum from their 2019 Vitality Blast campaign into all formats in the 2020 season.

Hosein enjoyed a strong season as first-choice wicketkeeper in the Specsavers County Championship and Royal London One-Day Cup, scoring five half-centuries.

He did not feature in the Vitality Blast as Derbyshire reached their maiden Finals Day, after winning seven group matches and a quarter-final against Gloucestershire at Bristol.

Despite not playing an on-field role during the Twenty20 campaign, Hosein says that the success gave a confidence boost to the entire squad, something that he wants them to build on in all formats.

“The Vitality Blast campaign gave us the confidence and belief that we can compete with the very best,” Hosein said.

“We got down to the final four teams in that competition, and I see no reason that we can’t push for that kind of success in all formats next season.

“It’s a big confidence boost for everyone, the side got to Finals Day and it almost puts you on the map and reminds everyone that we are contenders and want to be pushing hard in all competitions.”

Abbott, 27, will be available for up to ten Specsavers County Championship matches, as well as the Vitality Blast group stage, while McDermott will also feature in the Twenty20 competition, as well as the Royal London One-Day Cup.

Abbott has claimed 137 wickets in 50 red-ball matches at an average of 33.10, including 37 in the 2018-19 Sheffield Shield at an average 22.29, including six in the final against eventual winners, Victoria.
