Sean Abbott moved to top of the Big Bash wicket-taking charts after taking his tally to 11 dismissals over the weekend.
The Australian international took 3-30 as Sydney Sixers claimed a Boxing Day victory over Perth Scorchers, before posting figures of 2-28 in a dramatic super-over win against Sydney Thunder.
Abbott is the only bowler into double-figures for wickets in the Twenty20 competition, with his five appearances garnering 11 dismissals at an average of 13.45.
He will join up with Derbyshire for up to nine County Championship fixtures and the Vitality Blast in 2020, where he will team up with Ravi Rampaul, who was the leading wicket-taker in 2019’s T20 competition with 23, as part of the Falcons’ bowling attack.
Ben McDermott struck a match-winning half-century for Hurricanes as they defeated Melbourne Renegades by seven wickets in the Big Bash.
The Hobart captain, who also claimed a catch off Riley Meredith, struck an unbeaten 51 from 48 balls, during a 74-run partnership with D’Arcy Short (60), as his side chased down 148 to win the game with five balls to spare.
McDermott will also join up with Derbyshire for the 2020 Vitality Blast, while the wicketkeeper-batsman will also be available for the Royal London Cup.
