Derbyshire abroad: Hudson-Prentice wins one-day title

Fynn Hudson-Prentice claimed three wickets as Lancaster Park beat Old Boys Collegians CC to win the Designer Homes Premiership One-Day Cup in New Zealand. 

Having been set 195 to win, Old Boys were dismissed for 164 with Hudson-Prentice claiming 3-38, after hitting 27 in Lancaster Park’s innings.

With 16 wickets to his name at an average of 12.19, the all-rounder finishing as the competition’s second-highest wicket-taker, with best figures of 4-19.

Abbott

Sean Abbott scored his fourth first-class half-century and took 1-72 as New South Wales drew with Victoria in the Marsh Sheffield Shield at the MCG.

The fast bowler, who will join Derbyshire for up to ten County Championship matches and the Vitality Blast group stage, top-scored with 54 in the first innings, helping his side to 294 all out.

He also dismissed Nic Maddison (59) as Victoria declared on 307-7 but could not remove either New South Wales opener as they finished on 129-0.

Critchley

Matt Critchley took 2-96 for Liverpool Fairfield on Day One of their NSW Premier Cricket – First Grade fixture against Penrith at the Rosedale Oval.

The all-rounder first dismissed Cameron Weir (42) before trapping Brent Williams lbw for 90 as Penrith ended the day on 341-7. with the match resuming on Saturday 7 December.

Reece and McDermott

Luis Reece and Ben McDermott both suffered defeats with their respective sides in Australia over the weekend.

Reece bowled 22 overs, eight of which were maidens, as Gosnells were beaten by Bayswater-Morley in the Western Australia Cricket Association  – First Grade.

McDermott scored 18 from 32 balls in the first innings and nought in the second for Tasmania, who fell to a ten-wicket defeat to Queensland at the Bellerive Oval in the Marsh Sheffield Shield.

McKiernan

Mattie McKiernan scored 24 runs as South Hobart Sandy Bay CC beat Glenorchy CC by 174 runs in the Cricket Tasmania Premier League Men’s First Grade.

The all-rounder also took a catch as Glenorchy were dismissed for just 49 runs after South Hobart Sandy Bay had declared on 223-4.
