Dave Houghton is planning for long-term success with Derbyshire, Michael Bublé will perform at The Pattonair County Ground and Fynn Hudson-Prentice has won silverware in New Zealand.

Houghton excited by squad’s potential

Head of Cricket, Dave Houghton says that sustained success has to be the aim for Derbyshire’s squad if they are to reach their full potential.

After the club reached Vitality Blast Finals Day for the first time in their history during the 2019 season, Houghton now wants the side to be challenging for success in all formats, and believes that the squad is good enough to do so over a number of years.

“If we are going to challenge and win things, we want to do that consistently,” said Houghton.

“There is no point setting a goal to win something next season and then finishing bottom of the pile for the next few years after.

“I think that stability is what will give you that continuity, and we have a squad that is ready and should be aiming to win something. If we can start doing that, then I think we have a squad capable of keeping it going.”

Michael Bublé to perform in Derby next summer

Grammy-award winning global megastar Michael Bublé will perform live at The Pattonair County Ground on Wednesday 29 July 2020.

The singer-songwriter, who has won four Grammy Awards and sold over 60 million records worldwide, returns to the UK next year with a very special An Evening with Michael Bublé tour which will visit some of the most picturesque open-air concert venues across the country.

Known for velvety vocals and a smooth style, Bublé is the latest international artist to be heading to Derby, after Elton John and Little Mix both attracted sell-out crowds in 2017 and 2018 respectively.

The all-standing concert will take place during the height of summer with thousands of fans expected to take to the outfield at The Pattonair County Ground for world-class showmanship and an unforgettable musical experience.
