Wayne Madsen has joined up with his Multan Sultans teammates ahead of their 2020 Pakistan Super League opener against Lahore Qalandars on Friday 21 February.

The Derbyshire batsman, who has previously represented Peshawar Zalmi in the competition, was selected by Multan in the Player Replacement Draft earlier this month.

He joins a side containing Shahid Afridi, Ravi Bopara and Imran Tahir, as well as England stars James Vince and Moeen Ali.

The tournament runs until Sunday 22 March, four weeks before the first County Championship season against Leicestershire at The Pattonair County Ground.

Ben McDermott

Ben McDermott returned to red-ball action with a half-century for Tasmania in their Marsh Sheffield Shield defeat to Queensland.

Having been dismissed for seven in the first innings, McDermott fought back in the second with a battling 69, which included nine fours.

He top-scored in an innings that also saw Tim Paine and Beau Webster pass 50, although it was not enough stop Queensland, who chased down a target of 58 to claim victory.
