Alex Hughes says confidence will be key for the Falcons, register for Vitality Blast tickets today and Derbyshire launch a new website.

Confidence key for Hughes.

Alex Hughes is sure 2019’s successful Vitality Blast campaign will give the Falcons belief ahead of the 2020 season.

Derbyshire appeared at Finals Day for the first time, after picking up seven wins in the north group, before beating Gloucestershire in the quarter-final at Bristol.

Billy Godleman, Luis Reece, Wayne Madsen and Leus du Plooy all starred with the bat, combining for 14 half-centuries, while Ravi Rampaul and Matt Critchley made vital contributions with the ball.

Having also been a key player during the competition, Hughes says the team will be looking to enjoy similar success this year.

“The confidence is definitely still there, but you know when you start a new competition everyone starts from zero,” said Hughes.

“It’s not a case of being over-confident, but I think what we did last year gave everyone a bit of belief and we want to recreate that.”
