Luis Reece believes the Derbyshire squad is confident in their ability and will be aiming for Vitality Blast success this season.
The Falcons reached Finals Day for the first time last season, having won seven North Group matches and a quarter-final against Gloucestershire in Bristol.
Only three sides have won more Vitality Blast group matches than Derbyshire in the last three seasons, while Ravi Rampaul finished as the competition’s leading wicket-taker in 2019.
Having reached Finals Day last season, Reece says the squad are eager to do so again, and believe in their ability to challenge for the trophy.
“I think the confidence that has been instilled into the group, means that the players are well aware of the ability that we have,” Reece said.
“We have confidence in each other’s roles, we trust each other and we approach every game the same. We play our way, we execute our skills and we know that if do what we set out to do, then more often than not, we will come away with a win.
“I think we have shown over the last few years that, at our best, we are a very tough team to beat and I think if we keep going in the direction and improve, it can only help us.
“We always want to be around those qualification spots. It was Derbyshire’s first Finals Day last year, but hopefully it’s the first of many.”
