Cricket’s charity auction as part of the Together Through This Test initiative has raised more than £35,000, with Derbyshire County Cricket Club’s lot supporting Derby & Burton Hospitals Charity.
The auction, which was backed by all 18 first-class counties, the ECB, MCC and PCA closed to bidders at midday on Sunday 14 June, with the final fundraising total standing at £35,217.
Each donor nominated a charitable cause to benefit from the proceeds of their lots with auctioneers John Pye donating all of their fees.
A coaching session with three Derbyshire players, followed by a hospitality package to a Vitality Blast match at The Incora County Ground drew a bid of £741, with funds going towards supporting the work of the club’s Official Charity Partner, Derby & Burton Hospitals Charity.
Another of the hotly-contested lots in the auction included a hospitality package for next summer’s Lord’s Test between England and India, which garnered a bid of £3,300.
