It was the day that Derbyshire secured their first silverware of this century.

On 14 September, 2012, Derbyshire finished off a six-wicket victory over Hampshire to lift the County Championship Division Two trophy, capping off an excellent season and earning promotion to Division One.

Australia international, Usman Khawaja hit a brilliant 72 not out, while Ross Whiteley smashed 38 from just 30 deliveries as Karl Krikken’s side chased down the target of 196 in less than 42 overs.
