Derbyshire County Cricket Club’s next exclusive Members’ Forum will take place on Wednesday 26 May; 7pm start and will mark 150 years since the Club’s maiden first-class fixture began against Lancashire in 1871.
The digital event, which will take place via Zoom and is exclusive to Members, will offer supporters the opportunity to discuss the latest updates regarding the season, Membership and ground development among other topics.
Members also have the opportunity to submit questions for a Q&A with legendary fast bowler, Michael Holding, who joined Derbyshire in 1983 and played 178 all format matches for the county, taking 378 wickets, as well as scoring a useful 2,463 runs.
His 8-21 in a NatWest Trophy game against Sussex at Hove in 1988 was a world best in limited overs matches and remains the best one-day performance in the UK.
Of Derbyshire’s wonderful array of overseas players, only John Wright played longer for the county, and it was fitting that in Holding’s final first-class match, he struck the winnings runs to see Derbyshire to a one-wicket win over Nottinghamshire at Derby in September 1989.
A former President of the club, Holding opened the WDS Business & Media Centre at Derby in 2016.
