Anuj Dal struck a classy 71, but Derbyshire were beaten by Nottinghamshire in the Second XI Championship game at The Incora County Ground.
The visitors claimed a ten-wicket victory in Derby, despite Dal’s second-innings runs, while Ben Aitchison, George Scrimshaw and Mattie McKiernan shared nine wickets.
With plenty of rain around on the opening two days, Derbyshire struggled to get going in their first innings, with Jack Newby’s well-made 66 the highlight as they were bowled out for 203.
McKiernan was the pick of the Derbyshire bowlers, claiming 3-34, while Scrimshaw (3-36) and Aitchison (3-82) were also in the wickets, after featuring for the first team of late.
Nottinghamshire declared on 306-9, and the hosts made the worst possible start, finding themselves 0-3 at the end of the third day, with the experienced Peter Trego making his mark, before going on to take 3-8.
Dal was the only Derbyshire player to pass 50, although he did put on 97 with Nils Priestley (45), forcing the visitors to bat again after Derbyshire were all out for 152.
The opening partnership of Matthew Montgomery (27 not out) and Ben Compton (19 not out) saw Nottinghamshire home without losing a wicket.
