& News

One of Derbyshire’s longest-serving volunteers, Peter Peek, has died.

Heritage Office, David Griffin, writes;

Peter Peek was a lifelong supporter of Derbyshire County Cricket Club and worked tirelessly in a number of roles including as an active member of the Ground Committee. He also served for many years on the Derbyshire County Cricket Supporters Club committee, regularly stewarding coach trips to away venues.

He worked on a number of player benefit committees, but it was as the club’s main scorecard seller that he will be best-remembered. For almost two decades, Peter would walk around the ground selling scorecards and yearbooks, always cheerful whatever the weather.

In later years he could be found seated in front on the stand at the City End, always at his happiest when reminiscing about his many decades following Derbyshire.

Everyone at Derbyshire County Cricket Club would like to extend their deepest sympathy to Peter’s family and friends.
