Derbyshire’s 2022 Second XI fixtures have been confirmed, with Belper Meadows playing host to the opening four-day game of the season against Leicestershire, starting on Monday 18 April.
Spectators are once again permitted at Second XI fixtures, with home games spread across The Incora County Ground, Queen’s Park (Chesterfield), Repton School, Belper and Denby.
Queen’s Park will be the setting for five days of Second XI cricket this season, with a pair of T20s against Yorkshire in May, followed by a Second XI Championship clash against the same opponent in July.
Academy prospects are set to be given more opportunities in the Second XI this season, with new Head of Cricket, Mickey Arthur, and Head of Talent Pathway, Daryn Smit, keen to test the players and prepare them for first team cricket.
