Matchday Guide: Derbyshire Falcons vs Yorkshire Vikings

The BRM Solicitors Chesterfield Festival of Cricket, in association with Chesterfield Borough Council, comes to a close this weekend with the hugely popular Vitality Blast clash between Derbyshire Falcons and Yorkshire Vikings on Saturday; 2.30pm start.

If you are joining us for this fixture, please read the information below which will ensure that your visit is safe, enjoyable and comfortable.

Gates Open: 120 minutes before the scheduled start of play
Interval: 3.45pm approx.
Close: 5.15pm approx.


Tickets – SOLD OUT

Tickets for this fixture are sold out and no tickets will be available on the gate.

Members must have claimed a ticket in advance and bring this ticket, alongside their 2022 Membership card, with them to be granted entry. Membership cards alone will not be valid for entry.

The Club’s policy for Members wishing to attend this hugely popular fixture was communicated via email, online and via your welcome pack. If you have any queries, please email [email protected].

All advanced car parking has also sold out. Further details regarding parking, including public car parks located nearby, can be found below.


Member Deposits

Members who paid a £10 refundable deposit to secure their ticket for this fixture can claim their refund by visiting the temporary Ticket Office, which will be located by the Club Shop in the conservatory, close to the main entrance.

The Club’s Ticket Office team will have a list of all Members who paid a deposit and those who visit the temporary Ticket Office will be checked off against the list, with refunds automatically processed back onto the original payment card within 10 working days.

If your payment method has changed since making your deposit, please notify the Club.


Ground Access & Parking

Gates open at 12.30pm for ticket-holders and we ask all supporters not to arrive before this time to avoid queues on adjacent roads.

Pre-Purchased Parking: Entry by car for those with a pre-purchased Car Park Ticket, or a 2022 Car Park Season Pass (including Incora Executive Members) will be via the main entrance off Boythorpe Avenue (please see above map). No further on-site car parking will be available on the day.

Public Parking: Additional public parking is available at:

  • Holywell Cross pay and display car park; S40 1UT
  • New Beetwell Street multi-storey car park; S40 1QP
  • Pay and display sites – North and South either side of the ground; S40 2ND.
  • Small Queen’s Park annex car park at Boythorpe Avenue / Park Road; S40 2QE. This is a pay and display car park.

Please do not park at Queen’s Park Sports Centre, this is reserved for sports centre users.

We encourage all supporters to plan their arrival at the ground, allowing plenty of time. Thank you for your co-operation.

Ground Access by Foot/Public Transport: Supporters who arrive on foot or by public transport and have pre-purchased tickets or a Derbyshire Membership Card can enter the ground via any of the three entrances displayed on the above map – off Boythorpe Avenue, via the Lake End (near the play area), or off Park Road.

Ticket Scanning: Once parked, or at the venue entrance on foot, all supporters will be required to pass through a scanning checkpoint, as directed by signage and on-site stewards.

You must present your Membership card or match ticket to be scanned (club-issued printed ticket, printed e-ticket, or e-ticket displayed on a smartphone).

Public Transport

By Train
There is a direct train service running from Derby to Chesterfield.

You can plan your journey using the East Midlands Rail booking tool by clicking HERE.

The walk from the station takes about 25-30 minutes.

By Bus
Trent Barton operate a Comet service from Derby to Chesterfield from Monday to Saturday.

Seating & Viewing

Spectator Seating: Seating will be available around the ground, with the Members’ seating area located by the Main Pavilion.

Reserved/Unreserved Seating: All seating will be unreserved for this fixture, including the Members’ area.

Disabled Access: Priority seating for supporters with accessible needs will be available at various locations around the ground. If any supporter requires assistance with any seating arrangements, please contact your nearest steward.

Own Chairs: Supporters are permitted to bring their own chairs and picnic blankets for this fixture.

Dogs: Supporters are not permitted to bring dogs to this fixture.

The Club reserves the right to close certain spectator areas dependant on weather or attendance.


Members Area

2022 Season and Life Members will have exclusive access to the benched seating area to the side of the Main Pavilion. Please have your Membership Card ready to present to the steward upon entry.

Incora Executive Members will have exclusive use of the Executive Marquee, while the pre-order system for hot food will continue to be in operation. Executive Members have been sent an email with details of how to do this. For any issues linked to pre-ordering, please email [email protected].


Food & Drink

Food: The popular Masala Express and Woodfired Pizza vans, which have been a hit with supporters at The Incora County Ground this season, will both be at Chesterfield, serving fresh curries and pizzas respectively.

Refreshments: There will be a range of catering units on site, serving a variety of hot and cold food, including vegetarian and vegan options. Plus, no visit to Queen’s Park would be complete without an ice cream!

Stay refreshed with Brampton Brewery, who will be back at this year’s BRM Solicitors Chesterfield Festival of Cricket, serving a range of locally-brewed ales.

The Club operates Challenge 25 and a responsible drinking policy. Low alcohol, or 0% beer, cider and gin will be available.

Reusable Drinkware: The Club operates a Reusable Drinkware policy, details of which can be found HERE.

Spectators are permitted to bring their own refreshments to this fixture, however no alcohol is permitted to be brought into the venue.


Reception & Club Shop

Club Shop: The Club Shop, located in the conservatory on the top bank by the pavilion, will be open from 12.30pm until the close of play.

For this fixture, the Club’s Reception/Ticket Office will be located in the conservatory, alongside the Club Shop.

Online Shop: The Club’s new Online Shop is now live at derbyshireccc.com. The shop now includes replica Vitality Blast shirts, as well as a range of other Club merchandise and the official Derbyshire County Cricket Club 150th Anniversary book.

Further stock, including a brand-new leisurewear range, will be available in the coming weeks.

Scorecards: A blank scorecard template can be downloaded for free, HERE. A teamsheet can also be collected from the Club Shop in the conservatory. Please note, this will not be updated after the toss due to being at an out-ground. As part of the Club’s initiative to reduce paper waste, we encourage supporters to use the Club website for the latest score and team information via our Match Centre (details and link below).


Weather

There are no areas of covered seating and supporters are encouraged to check the latest weather forecast before planning their visit and prepare accordingly.

While refreshments will be available from outlets around the ground, the Club advises supporters to bring plenty of bottled water.

All official updates on play, which are provided solely by the Match Officials, will be communicated via the Club’s Twitter account HERE. You do not need to sign-up for a Twitter account to see these updates.

Cashless Venue

Since the start of the 2021 season, Derbyshire has operated a cashless policy across all Club-managed points of sale on site – from ticket gates, to catering. This includes our annual BRM Solicitors Chesterfield Festival of Cricket at Queen’s Park.

All of our catering and bar tills will accept all major debit/credit cards, as well as contactless payment options, including Apple and Android Pay.


Match Centre & Live Stream

This fixture will be Live Streamed on the club website through our improved Match Centre.

With Live Streaming, in-play scorecards, ball by ball commentary, clips, statistics and so much more, you can put yourself at the heart of the action, even from the comfort of your own home.

Clips and updates will also be provided via our social media channels, so make sure you’re following us on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram, so you never miss a moment of the action.

Please note that, due to being at an out-ground, the Club’s Live Stream will differ to games hosted at The Incora County Ground.
