The Tears for Fears concert, due to take place at The Incora County Ground on Tuesday 12 July, has been cancelled by the band due to an injury to band member, Curt Smith.
A statement from the band reads:
We are absolutely gutted to have to cancel our concert in Derby, UK on July 12 while Curt continues to recover from his serious rib injury. We are hopeful to be performing for everyone again later this week and can’t wait to be on stage again. Thank you so much for all of the support and well wishes. Tickets will be refunded, if you have any questions please contact your point of purchase.
Derbyshire County Cricket Club Chief Executive, Ryan Duckett, said: “It’s disappointing for the Tears for Fears fans who were due to join us tomorrow night, but the health of the artists must come first and as the venue, we understand and respect their decision to cancel the concert.
“The event would have rounded-off a fantastic few days at The Incora County Ground after we hosted Michael Bublé on Saturday night in front of a packed crowd. It was a great night for the city and one of the largest concerts across the East Midlands region this summer.
“The Incora County Ground is now well-established as a major venue in the region, ranging from concerts such as Elton John, Little Mix and Michael Bublé, to Derby’s biggest annual Fireworks Night and Fun Fair, and we look forward to hosting similar events in the future.”
The authorised ticket merchants will be in touch with all ticket-buyers to process a full refund. The venue is unable to assist with ticket queries.
All car park tickets will be automatically refunded onto the original payment card used at the point of sale. Customers do not need to contact the venue to request a refund.
Please allow up to 10 working days for the refund to show on your bank statement.
All hospitality guests will be contacted by the Club regarding their booking.
