Derbyshire’s Wayne Madsen has been nominated for the 2022 PCA Men’s Player of the Year award.
Madsen, 38, is the leading run-scorer in the LV= County Championship, with 1,273 runs to his name, including three centuries and ten half-centuries at an average of 60.61.
The batter was also in imperious form in the Vitality Blast, making 499 runs at an average of 38.38, with one century and three half-centuries, as he helped the Falcons to reach the quarter-finals for the third time in six years.
With more than 1,800 runs to his name this season across all formats, Madsen has been nominated for the PCA Player of the Year award, alongside Yorkshire and England’s Harry Brook and Jonny Bairstow, as well as Will Jacks of Surrey.
For the first time since 2019, the cinch PCA Awards will once again be held in person at The Hurlingham Club on Thursday 6 October. The shortlisted candidates will find out at the ceremony whether they have won the award in their category.
