Derbyshire’s Sarah Glenn has been named in England squad for their IT20 series against West Indies, starting next month.

The spinner, who is ranked as the fourth-best T20 bowler in the world, has returned to the county of her birth ahead of the 2023 season and will be hoping to add to her fine international record before England’s Vitality IT20 against Sri Lanka ar The Incora County Ground next September.

Tickets are now on general sale for England’s Vitality IT20 against Sri Lanka at The Incora County Ground on Wednesday 6 September 2023 (6pm).

England have lost just once at Derby since 2017, with the ground becoming one of the premiere venues for women’s international cricket in the country, having hosted blockbuster clashes against India, West Indies, New Zealand and South Africa in recent years.

Captain Heather Knight is back after surgery on a hip injury, while all-rounders Nat Sciver and Katherine Brunt both return having opted to take breaks from the game in the summer.

The 19 players selected will travel out on November 29, with the four players not selected in the IT20 squad returning home at the end of the three-match ODI series.

England Women’s Head Coach Jon Lewis said: “I’m really excited to get to the West Indies and start working with this group. Though I wasn’t involved in selection for this trip, we did have some brief discussions in the lead up to selection and I’m pleased for everyone who’s been selected.

“It’s great to have Heather, Nat and Katherine back in the group. The quality and experience they bring can only add huge value both on and off the field. We will manage Katherine back into competitive cricket with an eye on the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup in February.

“Equally, for Lauren, it’s pleasing to see a player go through a tough period and come back stronger, while demonstrating terrific form at domestic and franchise level. I have been particularly impressed with Lauren’s ability to put the bowlers under pressure and score at an impressive run rate in the power play.”
