Mickey Arthur has signed a new three-year contract extension with Derbyshire, keeping him at The Incora County Ground until the end of the 2025 season.
A world-renowned coach, who has led South Africa, Australia, Pakistan and Sri Lanka on the international stage, Arthur joined Derbyshire ahead of the 2022 season and oversaw an upturn in form during his first campaign in charge.
Derbyshire achieved a Club-record nine wins in the 2022 Vitality Blast group stage, while six players passed 1,000 runs across all formats, with Wayne Madsen finishing as the country’s leading LV= County Championship run-scorer.
Having seen George Scrimshaw and Sam Conners earn England Lions call-ups during his first season at the helm, Arthur will be working to put Derbyshire’s players at the forefront of county cricket over the next three seasons.

Arthur said: “I’ve always said that Derbyshire is a county close to my heart since working with the likes of Eddie Barlow and Fred Swarbrook, and my first season with the Club has only made that feeling grow.
“Supporters have made me feel instantly welcome, we have a squad full of potential and I’m looking forward to developing it and challenging for silverware at the very top of county cricket.
