Derbyshire’s Wayne Madsen and George Scrimshaw have been retained by Manchester Originals and Welsh Fire respectively for the 2023 Hundred competition.

Madsen played ten times as the Originals reached The Hundred final in 2022, scoring 157 runs, including a match-winning half-century in the final group game against Oval Invincibles.

Scrimshaw was one of the few bright spots in a disappointing campaign for Welsh Fire, with the Derbyshire and England Lions quick taking four wickets, the joint-second-most for the team.

Leus du Plooy has not been retained by Welsh Fire, despite having the third-highest average for the team last season, scoring 90 runs in just four appearances. The Derbyshire Club Captain was one of the stars of the recent SA20 competition, scoring two match-winning half-centuries and averaging more than 60 as Joburg Super Kings reached the semi finals.

The Hundred Draft will be televised live on Sky Sports on Thursday 23 March.
