The biggest derbies

Two of county cricket’s biggest rivalries reignite in Derbyshire this summer, as the Falcons take on Notts Outlaws and Yorkshire Vikings in blockbuster clashes.

First, Derbyshire Falcons host the Outlaws on Friday 9 June (6.30pm start) in the East Midlands Derby, with plenty of old scores to be settled, with Mickey Arthur’s side having finished joint-top of the North Group last season, while the Trent Bridge outfit failed to qualify for the quarter-finals in 2022.

Then, on Sunday 18 June (2.30pm) Derbyshire face Yorkshire Vikings at Queen’s Park, Chesterfield, aiming to extend their long unbeaten run over the White Rose.

Tickets are selling fast for both games, with the Yorkshire fixture having sold out in 2018, 2019 and 2022, so don’t delay if you want to experience these huge matches live and in person.

BOOK TICKETS

A world-class coaching setup

Derbyshire are led by world-renowned Head of Cricket, Mickey Arthur, who is a former coach of South Africa, Australia, Sri Lanka and Pakistan, the latter of which he won the ICC Champions Trophy with.

However, Arthur is not alone, having assembled a world-class coaching team containing former England internationals, Ian Bell (Batting Consultant) and Ajmal Shahzad (Assistant Coach, Bowling Lead), who reached the PSL final with Multan Sultans during the winter, while Derbyshire’s all-time leading T20 wicket-taker, Alex Hughes, is also part of the setup.

Arthur is targetting silverware with the squad this summer, having reached the quarter-finals last season, and with this level of coaching behind them, the squad has the best possible chance of doing so.
