Mickey Arthur was disappointed to taste defeat against Yorkshire, but was happy with the tenacity Derbyshire showed to fight back after a poor start.
After being bowled out for 111 before lunch on Day One, Derbyshire were again in a perilous position at 17-4 in the second innings, but a partnership of more than 270 between Haider Ali and Leus du Plooy allowed the side to build an eventual lead of 211, before taking six wickets in the final session of Day Three.
However, Shan Masood guided his Yorkshire side to victory with three wickets to spare, despite Mark Watt’s impressive nine wickets in the match.
Arthur believes the poor start to the game is what ultimately cost the side, but was pleased with the fight Derbyshire showed to get back into the game.
