Derbyshire Disability Liaison Officer, Lily Smith, has been appointed as Joint-Chair of the ECB’s Disabled Employee Network.
Smith, who is an integral part of the Club’s Membership and Ticketing team, was appointed as Derbyshire’s first-ever DLO last year and has been named alongside Richard Hill MBE and Glamorgan’s Brychan Tudor as part of the ECB’s ground-breaking Disabled Employee Network.
The 2023 season has seen a number of accessibility improvements at The Incora County Ground, including hearing loops, new wheelchair bays, improved toilet facilities with changing areas and a dedicated email inbox for accessibility queries ([email protected]).
The new Disabled Employee Network (DEN) follows on from the introduction of the Women in Cricket and Race in Cricket Employee networks. Employee networks aim to give people working in cricket a voice to create and influence EDI (equity, diversity, and inclusion) change, for their area of diversity as well as more broadly working together as a collective. For more information about the employee networks please contact [email protected].
Marketing & Communications Manager, Tom Skinner, said: “The impact Lily has made on our customer experience has been extremely positive. Alongside our improved facilities at The Incora County Ground, Lily has worked hard to provide a dedicated point of contact and streamline information for all visitors with accessibility requirements.
“We pride ourselves on making The Incora County Ground accessible for all, and this is recognition for the great work Lily has done and an opportunity to enact further positive change.”
