Derbyshire Falcons have named a 15-player squad for tomorrow’s Vitality Blast match against Birmingham Bears at Edgbaston, starting at 6.30pm.
Haider Ali scored his first Vitality Blast half-century for Derbyshire in Sunday’s game against Yorkshire Vikings and he will be looking to build on that against Birmingham Bears, while Wayne Madsen is yet to score below 44 in this season’s competition after a stellar start with the bat.
With the ball, Zak Chappell’s ten wickets have put him top of Derbyshire’s wicket-taking charts, with Zaman Khan (8) and George Scrimshaw (7) hoping to close the gap.

The Opposition
Birmingham Bears sit second in the North Group table, with four wins and two defeats from their opening six games.
Batter, Sam Hain, has scored 303 runs in six innings so far, with three half-centuries, and he will be aiming to extend that run of form against Derbyshire’s Wayne Madsen, who has the most runs in the competition so far.
Craig Miles (9) and the evergreen Danny Briggs (8) have combined for 17 wickets so far, while young fast bowler, Henry Brookes, has picked up seven wickets.
Pre-Match Talk
Wayne Madsen says the Falcons will be looking to bounce back from their defeat to Yorkshire Vikings, when they take on Birmingham Bears at Edgbaston.
After two wins in as many days last week, including one over the Bears, the Falcons were comfortably defeated at Headingley
“There’s a long way to go in the competition, but we need to get on that winning run sooner rather than later, starting with Birmingham Bears on Wednesday.
“We want to make sure we get the consistency levels right, we need to do that to become a competitive winning team.
“The way we bowled on Friday night was outstanding, we hit the right lengths and against Yorkshire, we just got it wrong. We bowled the balls we didn’t bowl against Birmingham Bears, when we bowled so well.”
