Harry Came struck an unbeaten 125 as Derbyshire defeated Lincolnshire in the 50-over fixture at Lindum.

Came, who continued his fine form this week after scoring 65 and 141 against Glamorgan, put on 133 runs with new 50-over captain, Brooke Guest, who himself scored 59 not out.

Having lost the toss and being asked to field by the hosts, Sam Conners made the perfect start with the ball, having Jayden Fell caught behind with the first delivery of the match.

Ben Wright scored 55 before he was bowled by Mattie McKiernan in the 22nd over, as Derbyshire aimed to bring the scoring rate down after a strong recovery from Lincolnshire.

Conners and Nick Potts claimed another two wickets each in the final ten overs to restrict the hosts to 250-9, with Jordan Cook finishing 70 not out.

Came opened with Luis Reece in the pair’s first innings since their Club-record first-wicket partnership of 360 earlier in the week, but they would only manage 47 this time, as Reece was dismissed for 14.

Haider Ali provided attacking intent batting at number three, and his 38 from 44 balls allowed Came to continue building his own innings without pressure.

However, following the quick wickets of Tom Wood (2) and Matt Lamb (3), Came will have been pleased to see the calming presence of captain Guest arriving at the crease, and the duo quickly set about putting Derbyshire back on top.

Guest struck one four and three sixes in his half-century, while Came played it safer, scoring an impressive 13 fours as they guided Derbyshire to victory ahead of their opening Metro Bank One Day Cup match against Gloucestershire at Cheltenham on Tuesday.
