Derbyshire is delighted to announce the signing of pace bowler Pat Brown from Worcestershire on a three-year contract.

Brown arrives at The Incora County Ground bringing international experience, having represented England in T20Is.

The 2018 campaign was a breakthrough year for Brown who, aged 20, claimed 31 wickets to help his side secure their maiden T20 title.  Brown starred on Finals Day, claiming his career best figures of 4-21 against Lancashire in the semi-final, before bowling an economical spell of 0-15 off four overs in the final.

This incredible Blast campaign saw Brown earn an England call-up for a T20I series in New Zealand in November 2019, where he made four international appearances, claiming three wickets throughout the tour.  His first international wicket was the removal of New Zealand legend Ross Taylor.

With 104 T20 wickets to his name in 85 matches, Brown is capable of opening the bowling but also at the death, through the use of his well-disguised slower balls and cutters.  Although Brown is seen as more of a T20 specialist, he has made five first-class appearances and ten List-A appearances, claiming 19 wickets across these formats.

Over his career, Brown has been drafted by two T20 franchises – the Melbourne Stars in the Big Bash League, as well as Peshawar Zalmi in the Pakistan Super League.

The past couple of seasons have seen Brown’s game-time limited, but he was an ever-present during Worcestershire 2023 T20 campaign.  The 24-year-old topped the Rapids Vitality Blast wicket-taking charts, claiming 24 wickets at an average of 22.4.
