Derbyshire Pathway prospects, Yousaf bin Naeem and Harry Moore impressed during the ECB Super Fours at Loughborough, as Derbyshire’s youngsters were once again showcased on the national stage.
The ECB Super Fours sees the best young players from around the country come together for a week of 50-over and 20-over cricket, representing the Midlands, London & East, North and South & West.
In three 50-over innings, bin Naeem scored 66, 55 and 54, with all three proving to be match-winning innings, as the Midlands went unbeaten in the format under Derbyshire Head of Talent Pathway, Daryn Smit.
Moore scored an unbeaten 20 and took 2-30 in the first game against South & West, putting on a half-century stand to guide Midlands to victory. The 16-year-old went on to claim three wickets in the competition, despite playing against older opposition.
Having starred with the bat, bin Naeem finished with 215 runs from five innings, at an average of 43, and 23 fours, putting him in the top ten for batting stats across the week, while Moore finished the week with the highest dot ball percentage (59.52%) of any bowler.
