Derbyshire youngster, Harry Moore, will join Yousaf Bin Naeem in the Young Lions Invitational squad for their 50-over fixtures against Ireland and Australia this week, with Head of Talent Pathway, Daryn Smit, appointed as Assistant Coach for the England Under 19s.
Bin Naeem, 17, who starred for the Midlands side at the ECB Super Fours and helped them to lift the 50-over trophy, was named in the original Young Lions squad, and will now be joined by Moore, 16, who made his Derbyshire List A debut against Worcestershire Rapids on Friday and became the youngest debutant in Club history, upon the conclusion of Derbyshire’s fixture against Somerset.
Smit, who has been leading Derbyshire’s Academy since 2020, has joined up with the England Under 19s setup, where he will work under former England all-rounder, Michael Yardy, for their 50-over series against Ireland, which began yesterday.
