Reece wants to take momentum up to Durham

Luis Reece says Derbyshire will be going into the Metro Bank One Day Cup fixture against Durham full of confidence, having tasted victory against Sussex Sharks. 

Reece has scored half-centuries in each of Derbyshire’s opening three games and made 92 in the win over Sussex Sharks at The Incora County Ground, which saw Derbyshire move to within two points of the top four.

Having picked up their first victory of the 50-over campaign, Reece now wants to keep that form going against Durham tomorrow.

“Durham have had a lot of success in red ball cricket this season, but this is a difference competition,” he said.

“They have plenty of players who can find form in every format, but we’ve got to bring this confidence and skill we’ve shown today, because if we play our best cricket, there’s no reason we can’t go and make it two wins in-a-row.

“It’s great to have got the first win, now we need to get some momentum together and go up to Durham, try to get a win there and then we’re right back into the competition.”
