England’s Vitality IT20 fixture against Sri Lanka is being played in front of sold-out crowd at The Incora County Ground this evening.
The attendance, which is a record for an England Women’s fixture at Derby, builds on an historic summer for the women’s game, with England having won two white ball series against Australia, roared on my capacity crowds, during The Ashes.
The Inocra County Ground is renowned for having one of the best spectator experiences in the country, even winning an ECB award in 2022, and has strived to become one of the most inclusive venues in cricket, through the introduction of new facilities, such as a Multi-Faith Room, accessibility improvements and more during 2023.
Earlier in the day, Derbyshire welcomed the 2023 Disability Premier League Final, which was won by Hawks after an excellent 83 not out from Callum Flynn, off just 51 balls.
A long-time supporter of the women’s game, The Incora County Ground has enjoyed plenty of memorable England performances and will welcome Heather Knight’s side back to Derby in 2024, as they face Pakistan in a Metro Bank One Day International on Thursday 23 May.
