Fast bowler, Mohammad Amir, is looking forward to linking up with Derbyshire in 2024 and hopes to replicate the success he and Mickey Arthur enjoyed on the international stage.
Amir, who boasts more than 250 international wickets, was a key member of Arthur’s Pakistan side which won the 2017 ICC Champions Trophy, with the left-arm quick claiming 3-16 in the final against India.
Prior to going to the Caribbean Premier League, Amir met with his new teammates and coaches at The Incora County Ground, speaking to Club Media to preview his 2024 stint with the county.
Having previously played county cricket with Essex, where he won the 2019 LV= County Championship and Vitality Blast titles, and Gloucestershire in 2022, as well as playing in multiple series in England with Pakistan, Amir is familiar with the conditions to expect and believes the county system is hugely important in developing players for the international game.
