Heather Knight’s side return to The Incora County Ground for their first home 50-over action of 2024, when they take on a Pakistan squad containing the likes of Bismah Maroof, who has more than 3,000 ODI runs, and the big-hitting Muneeba Ali, who last year struck Pakistan’s first-ever T20 century, and also boasts a hundred in the 50-over format.
The last ODI to be held at The Incora County Ground saw captain, Heather Knight, score an exceptional century to guide her side to victory over New Zealand in 2021.
Knight anchored the innings with 101 off 107 balls as England achieved their highest successful WODI chase at the time, reaching the target of 245 with just three balls to spare.
The game was won in the final over with three balls to spare in somewhat of a rare fashion. Sophie Ecclestone was stumped with scores level- but it was off a wide delivery- therefore securing the English victory in slightly bizarre fashion.
In 2024, Derbyshire-born duo, Sarah Glenn and Bess Heath, could feature, as could PCA Player of the Year, Tammy Beaumont, and PCA Women’s Young Player of the Year, Mahika Gaur.
September’s IT20 against Sri Lanka at Derby was played in front of a record crowd, and demand is once again high, as England look to build on a historic summer for women’s cricket after a brilliant Ashes series.
