Derbyshire have already been busy recruiting for the 2024 season, with Head of Cricket Mickey Arthur adding five new faces to the squad.
Three of the new players, David Lloyd, Pat Brown and Aneurin Donald represented Derbyshire last season having spent periods of time on loan at The Incora County Ground, whilst Mohammad Amir and Samit Patel will be new faces around the dressing room.
Lloyd and Donald spent time together at Glamorgan, where both batters built a reputation of scoring quickly in the limited overs formats, whereas seamer Brown arrives from Worcestershire having won the Vitality Blast at the age of 19, where he picked up 31 wickets during the winning campaign.
Amir and Patel are vastly experienced, having won countless trophies across the globe in franchise Twenty20 competitions. Both men have represented their respective countries across all formats, with left-armer Amir part of the squad in the 2009 IT20 World Cup and 2017 Champions Trophy victories for Pakistan.
All-rounder Patel arrives at Derbyshire having won the Vitality Blast twice with Nottinghamshire, in 2017 and 2020, and this invaluable winning mentality a great asset to add to the existing squad of players.
The 2023 T20 campaign saw Derbyshire records broken with bat and ball, as Zak Chappell claimed a record 26 wickets and ever-present Wayne Madsen scored a club season high of 580 runs during the campaign.
