2nd XI Head Coach & Head of Analytics, Chris Highton, has been named as an England Assistant Coach for the upcoming Deaf World Cup in Qatar.

England will be captained by George Greenway as they seek to win the tournament, having ended runners-up in their last tournament appearance in 2016.

Coach Highton, who led Derbyshire to 2nd XI T20 success in 2023, has been involved in England Disability Cricket coaching throughout his career.

He has helped in a variety of roles in the England setup, including analytical work before progressing into more Skills coaching in recent years.

An interview with Chris can be found below:

After another successful Disability Premier League season in 2023, with the finals being held at The Incora County Ground in September, England head to Qatar with a 15-man strong squad, which includes three uncapped players.

The tournament will start on 3 December, concluding with the final on 12 December.

Good luck Chris and all the team!
