Derbyshire Women spinner, Sarah Glenn, has been awarded an ECB Central Contract for the 2023/24 campaign, while wicketkeeper-batter Bess Heath has earned a Development Contract.

The Derbyshire-born duo came through the Women & Girls’ Pathway, each progressing through the ranks to senior level, before going on to earn wider recognition around the world.

Glenn, 24, has become a mainstay in the England team since her 2019 international debut, featuring in 52 IT20s and 14 ODIs, claiming a total of 80 wickets. She was a member of the 2023 Women’s Ashes squad, which defeated Australia in two white ball series.

Heath made her England bow in September of this year, featuring in the Metro Bank ODI Series win over Sri Lanka, and has been named in the Test and T20 squads for the upcoming series against India, starting this week.

Both players featured for Brisbane Heat in the recent Women’s Big Bash, with Glenn taking six wickets in five appearances, and Heath scoring 171 runs, as their side reached the final, before falling to the Adelaide Strikers.

The pair will be hoping to feature on home soil next year, when England take on Pakistan in a Metro Bank One Day International at The Incora County Ground on Thursday 23 May 2024.
