Derbyshire’s bowlers were able to get valuable overs in the tank, as their final pre-season friendly against Leeds/Bradford UCCE ended in a draw.
A Wayne Madsen catch off the bowling of Anuj Dal proved to be Derbyshire’s only breakthrough on Day Three, before a partnership of 179 between Tom Moulton (104) and Tim Lloyd (80) frustrated the hosts’ attack.
Madsen claimed the only wicket of the day half-way through the morning catching Rohan Mehmi in the slip off of Dal’s bowling, before battling morning session came to a close with the visitors at 62-2.
Luis Reece and Alex Thomson continued to build pressure in the early hours of the afternoon to try to get Moulton and Lloyd out.
Strong batting from the pair however lead them to a partnership of 184, with Lloyd on 80 runs from 172 balls and Moulton to his century with a final count of 104 from 245.
Derbyshire are next in action on Friday 5 April for their opening Vitality County Championship game against Gloucestershire CCC at The County Ground.
