& News

Friends of Queen’s Park Cricket are delighted to announce that their specially-commissioned book, celebrating the rich history of cricket at Queen’s Park, Chesterfield, will officially go on sale at the BRM Chesterfield Festival of Cricket.

Written by Derbyshire County Cricket Club’s Heritage Officer, David Griffin, The Jewel in Derbyshire’s Crown is a definitive account of the history of one of the game’s most picturesque out-grounds.

Friends of Queen’s Park Cricket is a registered charity and this book is a key part of their objective to promote the heritage of cricket in the Park and attract a new audience to cricket in the town.

Released to coincide with the start of the annual BRM Chesterfield Festival of Cricket, the book will go on sale on the opening day of Derbyshire’s Vitality County Championship fixture against Yorkshire, starting on Sunday 30 June, and will be available from the Friends of Queen’s Park cricket stall throughout the week, and by emailing [email protected].

Copies will also be available from the Club Shop at The County Ground, Derby.

Griffin will also be signing copies of the book during a special Meet the Author event during lunch on Day One at Chesterfield.

The book is priced at £19.99, with an additional £5 charge for postage and packaging on online orders.
