Boys' Pathway award winners announced

Derbyshire County Cricket Club held their Boys Presentation Evening for the 2024 season on Friday 4 October at The County Ground.

The winners were presented with their awards by the Derbyshire Pathway Coaching Staff (Daryn Smit, Head of Talent Pathway), (Gareth Marshall, Player Pathway Officer) and James Cokayne of Chevin Homes.

The evening was a great way to celebrate the boys achievements throughout the summer with Players, Parents/Guardians, Managers and Coaches in attendance. Each County age group Manager/Coach gave a summary of the season before announcing their individual winners. They are as follows:

U11 Boys Awards

Batting Award – Colby Edwards
Bowling Award – Umer Khan
Manager/Coach Award – Charlie Hall
Players’ Player Award – Colby Edwards

Individual Achievement Awards – Thomas Earley (five for 16 vs Norfolk), Colby Edwards (120 vs Norfolk)

U12 Boys Awards

Batting Award – Taiga Nishikawa-Khan
Bowling Award – Hamza Ibrar
Manager/Coach Award – Josh Rosier
Players’ Player Award – Toby Newsome

Individual Achievement Awards – Jack Bloor (six for 16 vs South Wales), Toby Newsome (115 vs Norfolk, three for 12 including a hat-trick vs Warwickshire), Josh Rosier (five for three vs North Wales)

U13 Boys Awards

Batting Award – Max Cherry
Bowling Award – Sadev Mudalige
Manager/Coach Award – Oliver Hill
Players’ Player Award – Sadev Mudalige

U14 Boys Awards

Batting Award – Archie Griffiths
Bowling Award – Ben Wilson
Manager/Coach Award – Theo Brown

Individual Achievement Awards – Theo Brown (125 vs Lincolnshire, 107 vs Yorkshire), Oscar Edwards (133 Not Out vs Wales), Ibrahim Mazhar (five for four vs Northamptonshire), Ben Wilson (six for 66 vs Northamptonshire)

U15 Boys Awards

Individual Achievement Awards – Ted Brazier (six for four vs Bedford School), Arnav Jumle (136 Not Out vs Northamptonshire), Spencer Sutton (five for 61 vs Northamptonshire)

U16 Boys Awards

Batting Award – Freddie Clarke
Bowling Award – Alfie Berry
Manager/Coach Award – Zak Kelly
Players’ Player Award – Freddie Clarke

Individual Achievement Awards – Freddie Clarke (123 vs Scotland, 117 vs Cumbria), Sam Cliffe (108 Not Out vs Northumberland), Zak Kelly (102 vs Scotland)

U18 Boys Awards

Batting Award – Will Tarrant
Bowling Award – Harris Ajaz
Players’ Player Award – Harris Ajaz

Individual Achievement Awards – Harris Ajaz (six for 78 vs Durham, five for 73 vs Repton School, five for 54 vs Yorkshire), Jake Green (seven for 35 vs Leicestershire, five for 29 vs Lancashire), Amaan Hassan (151 vs Lancashire), Joe Hawkins (141 vs Nottinghamshire, 100 Not Out vs Repton School), Harrison Parker (105 vs Durham), Lakshay Sharma (153 vs Repton School), Will Tarrant (106 Not Out vs Nottinghamshire)

There was a special award presented by our main sponsor on the Boys Pathway, James Cokayne of Chevin Homes, to Colby Edwards for scoring 1,010 Pathway runs so far before the age of 12.

The final award of the evening was the Frank Burton Memorial Trophy Award which again was presented by James Cokayne of Chevin Homes. The winner of this award for the 2024 season was Spencer Sutton.
