Derbyshire Falcons Women have confirmed the squad for the 2025 season, as they gear up for their first campaign in the new domestic structure.
Led by Head of Women’s Cricket, Jon Dyson, and captained by Adrianna Darlow, Derbyshire Falcons Women will compete in the Vitality Blast, Metro Bank One-Day Cup and the Vitality T20 Women’s County Cup knockout competition.
The 15-player group features many of the squad who lifted the ECB County Championship T20 trophy in 2025, including Lara Shaw (Batter of the Year), Pagan Hardwick (Coaches’ Player of the Year) and Megan Pittman (Players’ Player of the Year).
Shaw, along with England Under 19s prospect and fellow Derbyshire Women & Girls Pathway alumni, Maria Andrews, join the Club on-loan from The Blaze Academy, while Ellie Nightingale will also spend the season at The County Ground, on-loan from Yorkshire Academy. All players will be available to play for the Falcons, when not in action for their parent clubs.
The Falcons Women’s season begins on Saturday 19 April, when they take on Gloucestershire in 50-over action at Seat Unique Bristol, while their first game in Derby will come against Yorkshire on Saturday 3 May.
For the first time, both the Falcons Men’s & Women’s teams will be at The County Ground on the same day, in a T20 double-header on Friday 18 July, when Jon Dyson’s side take on Northamptonshire, before Mickey Arthur’s men face Birmingham Bears in their final North Group game.
Newly-appointed Head Coach of Girls Pathway, Gareth Marshall, has also named the Emerging Player Programme squad for the 2025 season, which can be viewed by clicking HERE.
The County Ground has become one of the leading venues for the women’s game over the last decade, with England Women, The Falcons Women and The Blaze all set to take to the field in Derby this summer.
