Derbyshire County Cricket Club is delighted to announce trophy-winning bowler, Colin Tunnicliffe, as the Club’s new President.
Derby-born Tunnicliffe represented the county from 1973 to 1984 and was capped in 1977, making 317 appearances in total and taking 509 wickets.
He was also an instrumental member of the 1981 NatWest Trophy winning side, ending the competition as the leading wicket taker with 11 and hitting the winning run in the final at Lord’s.
After retirement as a player, Tunnicliffe transitioned into numerous off-field roles with the Club, including Non-Executive Director – Cricket, a position he held between 2018 and 2024.
He replaces outgoing President, Alan Hill, who had served since 2022, with the appointment being shared with Members at the Club’s Annual General Meeting on Wednesday 26 March.
