It’s set to be a huge BRM Chesterfield Festival of Cricket, in association with Chesterfield Borough Council!

From Saturday 28 June to Sunday 6 July, there will be seven action-packed days of cricket, as well as a host of activities off the field, to ensure this year’s Festival is the biggest ever!

We’ve put together a handy guide to what you expect!


History made at Queen’s Park

Saturday 28 June will see Derbyshire Falcons Women kick off the BRM Chesterfield Festival of the first time, when they face Worcestershire Rapids Women in the Vitality Blast (2.30pm start).

Tickets are free for the fixture and can be claimed using the link below, as Jon Dyson’s side continue their pursuit of a place at Finals Day in their first season in Tier Two.

Legends collide

England’s greatest ever fast bowler and Derbyshire’s modern-day great will face off at Queen’s Park, as Derbyshire face Lancashire in the Rothesay County Championship, starting Sunday 29 June (11am).

Jimmy Anderson will play at Queen’s Park for the first time in his unparalelled career, while Wayne Madsen leads his unbeaten Derbyshire side into battle, knowing a win will keep them in the driving seat for promotion.

Final few Yorkshire T20 tickets remaining!

Fewer than 10% tickets remain for the Vitality Blast clash between the Falcons and Yorkshire at Queen’s Park, Chesterfield.

The game, which closes out a stacked BRM Chesterfield Festival of Cricket, takes place on Sunday 6 July and will see the Falcons aiming to claim an eighth-straight T20 win over Yorkshire at Queen’s Park.

Sweet treats, hot food and a beverage for any thirst!

There will be a range of catering units on site, serving a variety of hot and cold food, including vegetarian and vegan options. Plus, no visit to Queen’s Park would be complete without an ice cream from Frederick’s of Chesterfield!

Available on Sunday 29 June only – enjoy a tasty range of hot food, including woodfired pizza, Mexican, burgers, loaded fries, and sweet or savoury waffles. Other food and drink options, including burgers and fries, plus sweet treats from Frederick’s will be available throughout the rest of the festival.

Stay refreshed with Brampton Brewery, who will be serving a range of ales throughout the Festival!

The Chesterfield Cricket Club volunteers will be running their tea bar throughout the Festival, located in the Members Area and also accessed via the path by the pavilion.

The Cricketer Podcast – LIVE

On Sunday 29 June, supporters can look forward to a special panel discussion at the BRM Chesterfield Cricket Festival, as The Cricketer’s Huw Turbervill, will be joined by former Derbyshire batter, Adrian Rollins, as well as Club Historian and Photographer, David Griffin.

The popular ‘Huw Meets’ podcast, which has featured the likes of Jack Russell and Ashley Giles in recent months, comes to Queen’s Park on Sunday 29 June (Day One versus Lancashire) and spectators will be able to watch the podcast live during the lunch interval by Brampton Brewery tent,

The trio will discuss memories of cricket at the picturesque Queen’s Park, a ground which has been synonymous with Derbyshire County Cricket Club since it first hosted first-class cricket in 1898.


Roland Butcher book signing

Trailblazing former England international, Roland Butcher, will be signing copies of his new book: ‘Breaking Barriers’ at Queen’s Park, Chesterfield, on Sunday 29 June.

Butcher, who is widely regarded to be the first black player to represent England, will be in the Marquee until lunch on Day One, then  near the Club Shop for the rest of the day.

Friends of Queen’s Park

Friends of Queen’s Park will have copies of The Jewel in Derbyshire’s Crown, written by Derbyshire Heritage Officer, David Griffin, available to purchase. The book is the definitive history of this iconic venue and the perfect souvenir from the BRM Chesterfield Festival of Cricket.
