All-rounder, Luis Reece, has signed a new two-year contract extension with Derbyshire.
Reece, 34, joined Derbyshire in 2017 and has gone on to score more than 8,000 runs and claim over 200 wickets across all formats.
A left-arm seamer, who is an experienced member of both the bowling attack and batting unit, Reece has been in stellar form with the ball in first-class cricket this season, twice claiming ten-wicket hauls in Rothesay County Championship matches, including in last week’s fixture against Leicestershire, with his 34 wickets being the most in Division Two.
Head of Cricket, Mickey Arthur, said: “Luis is a key member of our experienced core and his quality with bat and ball remains high. I’m pleased he will be staying with us for the next two years.
“As a left-armer who swings the ball, he brings a different dimension to our attack and he is an example for our younger players to follow, in how to adapt to different roles and perform.”
Reece added: “I’m really pleased to be staying with Derbyshire, this will take me to a decade with the Club and I feel at home here.
“I’m pleased to be contributing to the team and hopefully we can put together some good results in the remainder of the summer.”
