Derbyshire’s vote for the All-Time Twenty20 side closes tomorrow, as selection for bowling spots is still extremely closely contested.
We take a closer look at all the bowlers in the shortlist, from Lockie and Lungley, to Rampaul and Riaz. 
There are a few bowlers on the list who made significant impacts over the course of just a singular season, such as overseas signings Lockie Ferguson, Wahab Riaz and Imran Tahir.
Lockie Ferguson was a Falcon back in 2018, when he claimed 16 wickets in 13 games, at an average of 19.93.
Riaz registered 15 Falcons wickets, whilst Tahir claimed 17 during his singular season, but is regarded as many as the best spinner to have represented Derbyshire in T20s.
Zak Chappell’s 26 wickets during the course of the 2023 campaign is a season record haul, and the right-arm quick will be hoping to replicate this brilliant form during 2024.
Ravi Rampaul’s strike rate of 15.54 equated to 37 wickets during the 2018 and 2019 seasons, helping the Falcons reach Finals Day for the first time in our history.
Tim Groenewald sits fourth of the list of wicket takers in the format for the Falcons, with 51 dismissals. He also bowled two maidens, the joint-most amount, alongside Wayne White.
Recently departed George Scrimshaw claimed 58 wickets in his Falcons career, playing only 40 matches. He ended just two short of leading wicket taker Alex Hughes, and undoubtedly with a couple of more matches, he would sit top of the list in the format for the Falcons.
Finally, Tom Lungley is the only player to claim a five-wicket haul for Derbyshire in T20s, with best figures of 5/27.
From Scorpions to Phantoms and Falcons, Derbyshire have had some brilliant Twenty20 players, including individuals from all across the world. Ahead of next season, we will announce Derbyshire’s greatest Twenty20 side, drawn up from players who have made outstanding contributions for the county.
For each position, there are different players available to choose from, including their Derbyshire statistics in this format. There is also an option to select the captain of your greatest Derbyshire T20 side, and put forward a ‘twelfth man’ – it maybe somebody you couldn’t quite squeeze into your side, or a player who you think is deserving to be in the original lists!
