Supporters can now vote for the Showcase Cinema de Lux Player of the Month for the month of June.
Each month this season, supporters can cast their vote for their Player of the Month by visiting the Club’s official Twitter account.
We’ve selected three nominees; fast bowler Ben Cotton and batsmen Billy Godleman and Wayne Madsen. All three enjoyed a successful June, now supporters can vote for their Showcase Cinema de Lux Player of the Month.
Ben Cotton
Cotton was the county’s leading wicket taker in June. The tall paceman claimed six wickets in two Royal London One-Day Cup games, including career-best figures of 4-43 versus Worcestershire at the start of the month.
The 22-year-old enjoyed more success against Worcestershire in the Specsavers County Championship, picking up six wickets in the match at The 3aaa County Ground, with season-best figures of 4-28 in the first innings.
Cotton took a total of 17 wickets in June across all three competitions.
Billy Godleman
Billy scored a total of 346 runs across all competitions in June, at an average of 57.66.
It was in the longest format he enjoyed most success, scoring 237 runs in two innings this month – which included a career-best 204 against Worcestershire. He now has a total of 597 first-class runs in 2016, eight most in Division Two.
The 27-year-old was also in fine form in List A cricket, with knocks of 61 and 42 in the Royal London One-Day Cup as the Falcons went top of the North Group at the halfway stage.
Wayne Madsen
Madsen enjoyed a successful month with the bat in June, amassing 448 runs at an average of 56.
The 32-year-old hit 272 first-class runs this month in two innings, which included back-to-back centuries against Worcestershire (109) and Kent (163). He is now the top scorer in the country in the Specsavers County Championship this season, with 761 runs at an average of 63.41.
He also provided two telling contributions in the Royal London One-Day Cup this month, with unbeaten knocks of 69 and 21 as the Falcons opened the new competition with successive wins.
