Derbyshire are thrilled to announce the signing of New Zealand international Blair Tickner. Here, we take a look at Blair’s career so far.
Tickner arrives in Derby having played over 200 career matches with nearly 400 wickets to his name across all three formats.

His test appearances have come against England and Sri Lanka in 2023, where he accounted for players such as Ben Duckett, Harry Brook and Angelo Mathews.
In 2017, Tickner claimed a hat trick versus Wellington, the 41st incident in New Zealand first class cricket, alongside being the leading wicket-taker in the Super Smash with 21 wickets in 11 matches.
The tall fast bowler offers a different dynamic from his bowling, as his height creates vicious bounce and pace that has troubled batters all around the world.
He impressed in the recent Ford Trophy List A competition, where he claimed 17 wickets at an average of 20.64, including 11 dismissals in his last four games, while he claimed 12 wickets in four Plunket Shield first-class games, and is set to play in Central Districts’ final four red ball games of the season, prior to arriving at The Incora County Ground.
