Head of Cricket, Mickey Arthur, is feeling optimistic for the season ahead, after the Derbyshire squad were put through their paces with an intense week of outdoor training at Desert Springs, Spain.
The pre-season camp marked the first time that the whiole squad, other than overseas signings Mohammad Amir and Blair Tickner, were training together, with a number having spent time this winter playing abroad.
With Derbyshire set to play their first pre-season friendly against the South Asian Cricket Academy next week, Arthur is looking forward to being given selection headaches, ahead of the opening County Championship fixture agaunst Gloucestershire, starting on Friday 5 April.
