In July 2016, a young Aneurin Donald reached his maiden County Championship century for Glamorgan, but it was not just any ordinary innings.
19-year-old Donald equalled the fastest ever double century in first-class cricket at the time, equalling Ravi Shastri’s innings in 1985 – off just 123 balls.

Donald blitzed 15 sixes and 26 fours in a rapid knock after arriving at the crease in the afternoon session. At the close of play, he was out for 234, having being caught at long-off.
Derbyshire did not help themselves, dropping Donald twice early in his innings before he decided to take apart every opposition bowler.
In his stupendous knock, the right-hander dented six cars from his power-hitting as Glamorgan scored 481 in the first day at Colwyn Bay.
Donald reached his 100, 150 and 200 with sixes, with his second century taking just 43 deliveries.
When he was finally out after just 136 balls at the crease, the severe damage had been done as the Derbyshire attack could not contain the onslaught that featured shots 360 degrees around the ground.
Donald had some big partnerships in his innings, adding 115 with Will Bragg before a stand worth 130 with Craig Meschede in just 15 overs.
Derbyshire supporters will have the delight of witnessing Donald this season and his ability to produce quite frankly, ridiculous innings at times. In the Metro Bank One-Day Cup last year, Donald registered destructive back-to-back centuries for Hampshire and throughout his career he has been able to transform games in his favour through his ability to find regular eye-catching boundaries in quick fashion.
