Glenn and Heath named in England IT20 squad

Derbyshire-born duo, Sarah Glenn and Bess Heath, have been named in the England squad for the upcoming IT20 series against New Zealand, starting next month. 

Derbyshire’s Glenn is regarded as one of the world’s best white ball spinners, having claimed 73 wickets in 60 international T20 appearances, and was a key member of the bowling attack which has defeated India, New Zealand and Pakistan in recent months.

She has been in fine form for The Blaze, claiming eight wickets in four appearances, to help her side to reach the Charlotte Edwards Cup Finals Day, which will take place this Saturday at The County Ground.

Wicketkeeper-batter, Heath, will be looking to add to her five England caps, after making 148 runs for Northern Diamonds in the Charlotte Edwards Cup, including one half-century.

The series will consist of five T20 fixtures, with the first taking place at The Ageas Bowl on Saturday 6 July, before moving onto Hove, Canterbury, The Oval and Lord’s.

A host of England players could be in action at The County Ground this Saturday, as the Charlotte Edwards Cup Finals Day comes to Derby.

The likes of Sarah Glenn, Tammy Beaumont, Danni Wyatt, Amy Jones and Sophia Dunkley could all be in action, with adults tickets from just £12.50 and juniors just £5!

The Blaze, Central Sparks, South East Stars and Southern Vipers will battle it out to claim England’s premier women’s T20 trophy, with both semi-finals and the final itself taking place on the same day.

Semi-Final 1: The Blaze vs Central Sparks (11am)
Semi-Final 2: South East Stars vs Southern Vipers (2.30pm)
Final: (6.45pm)
