Derbyshire Women claimed the ECB Women’s County Championship T20 trophy, after defeating three other counties in Finals Day at Neston CC.
Jon Dyson’s side qualified for Finals Day after winning six of their seven group games, overcoming the likes of Lancashire, Yorkshire and Nottinghamshire to finish top of the table, to join Warwickshire, Hampshire and Hertfordshire in the two-day showpiece.
Derbyshire went unbeaten at Finals Day, winning all three fixtures, with Megan Pittman scoring 104 runs across three innings, including one half-century, while Adrianna Darlow’s seven wickets at Neston fired her side to the title.
Lara Shaw was Derbyshire’s standout batter in the competition, scoring 251 runs in the group stage alone, including the only century to be struck in Group One this season, with bowlers Emma Thatcher and Maria Andrews leading the way with the ball.
